Can the scene be
on both sides of the curtain?
No. Because of the way the scene is applied to the fabric,
there is no way we can match front and back together for acurate
registration on a single piece of fabric. While some ER’s
have turned a few of the curtains around to face out for the
staffs’ enjoyment, the majority of the patients still receive
the benefits of the curtains. You can sew two curtains back-to-back
(aka pillow-casing), but the curtains will never hang right
after the first washing, they will double in weight, and you
will need to purchase two separate curtains with an upcharge
for the additional finishing.
Can the scene be repeated?
No. There is only one scene per curtain. Repeating
the scene is counter-productive in that it can confuse the
patient and will do the opposite of what they were intended
for. It is like looking at Zebra's; if you have more than
one zebra, it becomes harder to pick just one.
What if I need a curtain that is wider than the scene?
The scene size is 68" tall x 104" wide. To accommodate
your requirements, we sew side-cloth that matches the back
of the curtain on either side of the scene to extend the width.
In most cases, the scene is centered side-to-side on the width.
With larger curtains, we recommend placing the scene at the
foot of the bed, or as far from the patient as possible, to
give the impression of looking out a picture window. Some
patients have complained of being overwelmed by the scene
if it was too close. To accommodate this, we need to know
which way the curtain is drawn, ie; left-to-right or vice
versa. This will tell us which end to place the scene.
Do you sell track?
No. We only sell cubicle curtains and scenic overheads. We
can refer you to a number of companies based on your region.
Can we have a custom scene from our area?
Yes. Custom scenes from your region are available and can
take 6-8 weeks to produce. If you are interested, please call
Loren Price at 888.515.6578 for more information.
Are there any measurement guidelines?
Yes. If you are replacing curtains, you might be able to
find a "Care" label sewn to the top righthand corner
where the mesh and fabric meet. The label may have the measurements
written on them. If there is no label, or it does not have
the measurements, measure the length of the track and add
15% for fullness. To measure the height, measure the ceiling
height and subtract 10-14" for floor clearence. We have
3 heights to choose from; 86", 94", and 102".
The fabric is 68" tall and the scene is 104" wide.
We use 20", 28" and 36" mesh to make up the
difference. The mesh can be cut to give you the proper height.
Do the curtains meet fire requirements?
Yes. They have been tested and certified. You can get a copy
of the certificates by clicking here.
