Catalina Curtain Company, Inc.
develops and markets Sereneview® cubicle curtains and window
treatments, scenic overheads, acoustic ceiling tiles, acoustic
wall panels and murals to hospitals, long-term care facilities,
and medical offices.
The company was founded and incorporated in 2002 by award
winning photographic artist Ernesto “Ernie” Rodriguez, and
is headquartered in Avalon, California, on Catalina Island,
off the coast of Los Angeles.
Sereneview® received the “Nightingale Award” for innovative
product design in 2002, from the Center for Health Design.
The Catalina Curtain Company, Inc. was awarded a GSA contract
in 2004.
Sereneview® was awarded a utility patent in 2005 for the
application of calming nature imagery on hospital privacy
curtains
Sereneview® cubicle curtains surround the patient with Rodriquez’
calming Nature Scenes to enhance healing and to promote well-being
for patients, staff, and visitors. Medical research supports
the use of nature images to reduce stress and to create a
healing environment. The current product line, available in
four coordinating earth tones, include: Tropical Breeze —
an inviting deserted beach scene; Tranquility —
a garden full of tulips; Central Coast –
green rolling hills and oak trees on a Spring day; Little
Harbor – breath taking view of the Pacific Ocean
from the windward coastline of Catalina Island; Monet’s
Garden – Monet’s famous garden and lily pond; Caribbean
Beach - the pristine waters of the Bahamas; Summer
Mist – mountain stream in the majestic Rockies; Colorado
Wildflowers – meadow of summer wildflowers in Crested
Butte; Aquarium - tropical fish
on a coral reef.
Sereneview® offers six photographic Nature Patterns to complement
the scenes and hospital décor. Printed on both sides
of the fabric, the repeating patterns are viewed in true-life
scale. Available in four coordinating earth tones, the
Patterns include: Water -calm ocean
view; Reed Grass - field of summer grass; Bamboo –
Japanese Zen garden; Clouds – Southern California
summer popcorn clouds; Ivy – serene ivy wall; Tucson –
neutral earth.
Available earth tones include: Azure Blue, Moss
Green, Sage Green, Sandstone
Beige.
The Sereneview® curtain lines are available in two base fabrics. The Avalon is
recommended for Scenes, Patterns, and colors; the Toyon for
Patterns and colors.
Sereneview® overheads, acoustic ceiling tiles and acoustic
wall panels, complement the curtains with images in lighting
fixtures, ceilings and walls, immersing the patient in a nurturing
environment.
Sereneview® cubicle curtains are manufactured entirely in
the United States of America and are made with top-of-the-line,
triple weave 100% polyester fabric, providing maximum patient
privacy.
Sereneview® cubicle curtains meet hospital laundering standards
with no loss of vibrant colors and no pilling.
Sereneview® cubicle curtains meet fire retardant standards
NFPA-701 and State of California Title 19. They are lightweight
and easy to install.
Sereneview® curtains come standard with the AEGIS® antimicrobial
microbe shield.
Sereneview® cubicle curtains are available in three heights:
86" for 8' ceilings, 94" for 8.5'-9' ceilings and
102" for 9.5'-10' ceilings. The fabric is 68" tall
with choice of 20", 28" and 36" mesh. The nature
scene is 95" wide on one side only and is not repeated.
The reverse side of the Scene has a complementary color and
Nature Pattern. To extend the curtain, we add side cloth of
the same complementary color.
The online “Curtain Builder” facilitates
designing curtains to exact specifications. Designers can
determine, preview, and select the best Patterns, Scenes,
