Sandra Johnstone, the PACU
Supervisor for Sutter
Maternity & Surgery Center in Santa
Cruz, CA was at the Sutter Santa Rosa Medical Center for a
meeting and saw the Sereneview® curtains in the Recovery room.
The PACU supervisor for Santa Rosa explained she had received
rave reviews from everyone that came through Recovery. Sandra
wrote down the contact information from the Care label and
contacted us when she got back to Santa Cruz the next day.
To get staff feedback, we hung a Tropical
Breeze curtain with
a blue and gray color on the backside. The concensus was the
blue back and we installed both the curtains and scenic overheads
on a weekend when the PACU was closed.
Prior to installing the curtains, some of the staff questioned
the need for such fancy curtains and were more content with
the status quo. When the staff came in on Monday morning they
were estatic with the new look, even the one's that questioned
the idea.
Here is an email Sandra sent afterwards: I was actually going
to e-mail you today. We have had nothing but RAVE reviews
from patients, families, staff, and physicians. Only complaint
from a few of my nurses is it is harder to start IV's, but
we have the portable lights and it is working out just fine.
Thank you so much for all your help and attention to detail.
YOU ROCK!!
