The Partricia L. Scheifly
Breast Health Center at Presbyterian
Intercommunity Hospital in
Whittier, CA was completing a remodel and found the curtains
web site. They were looking for something to help relieve
the stress and anxiety patients would have for a biopsy procedure
that can be painful and required them to stay still for long
periods of time.
After
meeting with the director, we proposed a lightbox on the wall
behind the Mammotome Stereotatic table.
Until the lightbox was hung, the technician was wary that
there would be enough room to move and that the lightbox was
overwhelming. After it was hung, the technician had enough
room to move around and the patient's feel a calming sense
during the biopsy by transporting themselves to the inviting
beach they wanted to be on at that moment.
